Services for Forrest Al Clawson, 62, of Jarrell were held Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown with Reverend Buddy Hyden and Reverend Dan Fliehs officiating.
Burial was at LandsCemetery in Jarrell.
Al Clawson was born October 11, 1946 in Austin to Hubert and Marjorie Clawson. He married Fannie Williams on December 18, 1963 and they spent 44 years together. Mr. Clawson was president of Al Clawson Disposal Inc., which he started as a one-man, one-truck sole proprietorship in 1982. As his business grew, he added employees. He enjoyed playing music and, most recently, was a mebmer of the band that played at the Senior Meal Luncheons in Jarrell on Mondays.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Clawson; his father, Hubert Clawson; brothers, Hubert Clawson Jr. and Marvin Joe Clawson; and his granddaughter, Carmen Marie Clawson.
Survivors include his wife, Fannie Clawson; son, Troy Clawson and wife Cynthia; daughters, Terri Haley and husband Kris, Tanya Clawson, Tammy Chavez-Gomez and Tiffany Clawson, all of Jarrell; grandchildren, Travis Clawson, Thomas Clawson, Carrie Clawson, Kristen Haley, Hope Haley, Jacob Haley, William Blake, Marjorie Blake, Tony Chavez-Gomez and John Chavez-Gomez; a brother, Cecil Dale Clawson and wife Alice of Manor; sisters, Patsy Wallace of Lampasas and Nancy Glover and husband Frank of Florence; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Ken Dixon, Jimmy England, Robert Leslie, Sammy Johnson, Charles Ashby and Cecil Pannell. Honorary pallbearers were Kermit Peterson, Donnie Peterson, Lynwood Pierce Sr., J. L. Edwards and Clyde Nichols.
