Holland Hornets Play Hard In Non-District Basketball

The Holland Boys Basketball teams had a busy holiday season competing in four games over the past two weeks. The Varsity defeated Austin Christian School 52 to 30 with Sam Goodnight leading a balanced scoring attack with nine points.

Darius Moore, Gabriel Camacho and Conner Wiley chipped in eight points each. Friday, January 2, Holland traveled to Round Top-Carmine and dropped a close game with the Cubs 55-52. Ethan Stround led all scorers with 19 points in the defeat.

Tuesday, January 6 brought the always powerful Snook Bluejays to Holland for a non-district game. The Hornets fought hard but came up just short, dropping the contest 64 to 51. Ethan Stroud once again led all scorers with 19 points. Friday, January 9 the Hornets traveled to Rosebud-Lott to take on the Cougars in a make up game from a game that was postponed on December 17. The Cougars got the best of Holland 75-36. Richie Pope and Ethan Stroud each had eight points to pace the Hornets.

Scores for the Holland Junior Varsity: Holland 42, Round Top-Carmine 29;

Holland 46, Snook 33; and Holland 22, Rosebud-Lott 47.
