There was a time when I thought frequent contributor, Mr. Henry L. Naizer of Austin, was a genuinely concerned citizen for our country but my esteem for him has changed, especially since his LTE of 11-12-08. He disparaged the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), yet by where he lives he should be well aware of ACORN’s invaluable contributions to better quality-of-life issues in all areas of the Austin Metroplex. This alone should have led him to search for the entire truth of the voter-fraud allegations. Had he done so (HYPERLINK "http://www.publicintegrity.org" www.publicintegrity.org or HYPERLINK "http://www.factcheck.org" www.factcheck.org as but two readily-available examples), he would have learned that it was ACORN itself which called attention to the irresponsible form content made by some they’d employed to register new voters, while the McCain campaign distorted the matter for its own ends.

Mr. Naizer also disparaged the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), the very group that most ardently reinforces our Bill of Rights, including Mr. Naizer’s freedom to express whatever he wants, regardless of accuracy or intolerance or even requested length.

Now I think Mr. Naizer just cannot bear any ideas different from his own.

Sincerely,
