Ruth Hendrix, 89, lifetime resident of Holland, Texas passed away Monday, October 13, 2008 in a Temple Hospital.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 15, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Goodnight Funeral Home in Bartlett.
Funeral services will be Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Goodnight Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond Tharp officiating.
Burial will follow in Holland Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews.
Ruth Hendrix was born March 12, 1919, the daughter of John Henry and Frances Emily (Adamak) McKenzie in Holland, Texas. On October 14, 1939 she was joined in marriage to Elmo D. Hendrix. Ruth was a homemaker, and a member of the Val Verde Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and four brothers.
Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Joyce Henderson and husband H.A. of Rogers and Patsy Kay Ashby and husband Charles of Little River; two sons, Kenneth R Hendrix of Rocky Mt., NC, and Billy D. Hendrix of Austin; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Frances Springer of Belton; her brother, Robert S. McKenzie of Belton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Goodnight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
