Today, May 10th, a FEW citizens of Bartlett got in our cars, drove to TownHall, did our civic duty and voted for a Mayor and 3 Councilmen. At the end of the day, the votes were tallied and the results were posted on the glass window. No official was polite enough to read the results out loud. This election was geared to give the citizens a choice and you made that choice.

Apparently the majority want Bartlett to continue sliding down hill, raising taxes every year and raising utility bills as frequently as possible. Let's watch all the for sale signs go up downtown. People have to get out from under so much official oppression! YOU VOTED for this.

Now you must live another two years with the same old "nothingness" coming out of City Hall. Please, please do not come whinning to me when you realize your pocket book is shrinking to $0.00

I DON'T CARE! You've had at the very least 3 years to attend Council meetings to learn for yourself what is/is NOT happening. Several of us have tried to educate you by visiting your homes, talking to you when we see you on the streets or at church, the school, wherever. We've answered your questions to the best of our knowledge and often gone to some trouble to make phone calls, write emails and letters to the various agencies to get the information FOR YOU. You still voted the same stagnant group back into office. So, don't call me....I don't care. Call on those you elected/re-elected with your problems. Call on them in the middle of the night, during the dinner hour, early in the morning. Don't call me as I don't care what your problems are. When you finally wake up and smell the roses, it's election time rolling around again..then call me, maybe I can find my caring bag again. With a population of over 1400 people, we had a possible 227 vote today. So sad, so very sad that so many of you can't be bothered to do your civic duty, take an interest in your HOME TOWN government.

You must make plenty money. Good for you. I don't want to hear your complaints. Suck it up and do the leg work yourself, find the proper agency that should be helping us, tell them your sad little story and remember to tell them how you voted! If another election is near they just might pay your bills for you as they have in the recent past. (It's called a bribe)(It's not legal). To help you remember, look in the mirror every morning and greet yourself, "Hello, you lazy Dummy! Come to the next meeting May 19th you can see your fearless leaders preening & gloating.

Sincerely,

magnoliablossom
